Oatmeal Cookies
3/4 c. vegetable shortening 1 1/4 c. packed brown sugar 1/2 c. granulated sugar 1 egg 1/4 c. water 1 t. vanilla 3 c. oatmeal (uncooked)
1 c. all purpose flour 1 t. salt 1/2 t. baking soda
Preheat oven to 350 degrees.
Beat together, shortening, sugar egg, water & vanilla until creamy. In a
separate bowl, combine the oatmeal, flour, salt & baking soda. Slowly add flour mixture to shortening mixture. Mix well. Drop by rounded teaspoonfuls
onto greased cookie sheet.
Bake for 12-15 minutes.
